This past month we’ve run into a few problems with clients not having access to their business domain. We can’t stress enough, that domains should always be purchased by the business owner, and not the developer. Simply having just the logins does not always mean you are the registrar (owner of the domain), unless your developer has setup the account in your name.
If in doubt, enter your domain here. This won’t always reveal the details, but it’s a good start point.
If you’re about to setup a website, please make sure that you buy the domain yourself. It doesn’t really matter where you purchase them, but we quite like (for ease of use), 123-Reg
It’s your address, and not having access can possibly put at risk your website, and email accounts associated with it.
